The Power of Three - Why We Combine Cardio, Strength, and Flexibility

In today’s world, fitness is complicated. We have multiple memberships to different places, only to go and not know what to do. We may not get educated on proper form, it’s not fun, and we even sometimes give up on going because we are tired from a long day.

Here at SPENGA, we combined the three pillars of fitness into one multi-sensory experience to make a one-stop shop for our members.

SPENGA is instructor led through the entire 60 minutes. SPENGA sessions begin with 20 blood pumping and heart rate elevating minutes on the spin bike. Beat driven with high energy music, we take cardio and make it fun while simultaneously making it low impact on the body with high reward breaking that sweat!

After a nice warm-up on the spin bike, building endurance in the muscles, we make our way to the strength floor to build efficiency in the muscles. From TRX to dumbbells, to BOSU, to those burpees we all know and love, by pairing the first 20 minutes of cardio with the second 20 minutes of strength training, we are able to not only build endurance and efficiency; but, also create a stronger body for the future WERK we put in.

We’ve done our cardio, strength, and now what? Our final 20 minutes of the session takes us to flexibility through Yoga. We’ve broken the muscles down, built them back up, and now it’s time to lengthen them. Through Yoga, we not only become more flexible, but it assists in toning the muscles and overall muscle control while simultaneously improving balance and our biggest goal: preventing injury.

By combining and giving equal time to cardio, strength, and flexibility in one 60 minute WERKout, we make fitness uncomplicated!
